Grieving In A Religious Way

The only thing on earth that is definite is death. Death comes but sometimes in an unexpected time. Although some may foresee it, but we cannot stop death as it comes anyhow.  Death of a family member, a friend, a relative or acquaintances is the most painful event that may come. It is hard to accept loss. At one time we are with someone and in a blink of an eye they can be gone forever. We can never bring back that person but memories will always be there. No matter how hard it is we must accept because at one point we will all be gone forever.

There are many ways to conduct funeral services. It may depend on the status of a person, or sometimes religion plays an important role. Religions around the world have their very own rites when it comes to death.  There are Christians, Muslims, Taoist or Buddhist, and many other religions and include those who do not even have a religion.  With different religions comes with different rites.  There are wakes that are held in their homes and some in the funeral parlors. Friends and relatives offer their condolences by giving flowers, food and some may give money.

Planning funerals are had. There are funeral services that are doing this in order to help the grieving family. Funeral services in Singapore vary because of the presence of different religions. Different religions have their very own beliefs and funeral rites. These funeral services are in line with the religion of the deceased or the grieving family. The deceased’s wishes are what these funeral services comply with. It gives the souls of the departed a better way to leave the earth.

In Singapore, Buddhists have a different way of conducting funeral services. They have a tradition that they follow that came from their ancestors. Buddhists strongly believes in focusing on health and longevity than on afterlife. They do not often discuss death. Thus Buddhist funerals are becoming more abridged as years pass by. Traditions on death are often forgotten. Some do not practice what their old folks have done in the past. This is one of the effects of their belief in long life; they do not talk more often about death. Even so there are still funeral services that respect every religion.

In the funeral service business, there are funeral directors that mandate and handle the arrangements. In Singapore, a funeral director provides guidance and advice to the grieving family aside from preparing arrangements. They have an association of funeral directors who are authorized to handle funeral services. Some are experienced in different religions. This is because of the presence of several religions therein. These funeral directors will ensure that they will properly honor the deceased by warranting the grieving family that the funeral will be meaningful and dignified.  This is what is good about these directors they are not only concerned about their business but they take into consideration the welfare of the family of the departed.
